Finding The Best Banquet Halls In Fort Wayne, In For Your Special Event

Finding The Best Banquet Halls In Fort Wayne, In For Your Special Event

byAlma Abell

When you are planning an event, one of the most important tasks is to find a suitable venue. Banquet Halls in Fort Wayne, IN are often the first choice because they are usually large enough to hold a large number of guests and they can be decorated to suit the event. When choosing the best venue for your event there are several factors to consider to ensure you are selecting the place that best suits your needs. The location of the venue is one of the primary concerns.

If you are hosting a business event the Banquet Halls in Fort Wayne, IN that you are considering should be located near the hotels where out of town guests will be staying and if it is for a wedding reception, the banquet hall should be located close to the wedding location.

It is also important to make sure the venue you are considering has sufficient parking. It is also best to hold an event in a banquet hall that does not rent space for more than one event on the same days and times. For example, if you are having a wedding reception in one room the last thing you would want is to have guests from an event in another room coming uninvited to the wedding reception. When you are touring the banquet hall it is important to ask about decorations and food service.

For example, when you contact the Classic Cafe Catering and Event Center you should ask if they offer packages that include a venue, the catering and the decorations. The decor of the banquet hall is very important, especially if you will be decorating for an event such as a wedding reception. It is usually best to choose a banquet hall that has a neutral color palate so you can easily incorporate the colors and/or theme of your event into the room with various decorations. Many banquet halls rent out quickly, so it is recommended that you begin the search for a banquet hall as soon as you know about the event. It is also recommended that you contact the banquet hall at least two weeks before the date of the event to confirm your reservations.

Wikinews interviews Stephen Murphy about the upcoming by-election in the Higgins electorate of the Australian parliament

Tuesday, December 1, 2009

With two by-elections coming up in Australia, many minor parties and independents will be looking to gain a seat in the House of Representatives. Stephen Murphy is one of the independents.

Mr Murphy is a computer programmer from the Melbourne suburb of Brunswick.

“After growing up in South-East Melbourne I studied Science at Monash with first class Honours, worked in Europe for 10 years and have recently returned to Australia. I work in finance as a computer programmer and speak five languages,” Mr Murphy said.

Wikinews reporter Patrick Gillett held an exclusive email interview with Mr Murphy, candidate for the Division of Higgins.

((WN)) Why do you want to get into parliament?

Stephen Murphy: I am standing up for what I believe is the correct course of action on the biggest issue in Australian politics in 100 years – Kevin Rudd’s flawed emissions trading scheme (ETS).

((WN)) What would the three main policies you are taking into this by-election be?

SM: I will oppose the emissions trading scheme, ensure that all government policy is based on accurate scientific evidence and return common sense to Canberra

((WN)) How would you address these policies?

SM: By asking for a Royal Commission into climate change so that the facts (such as that global warming stopped in 2001 and the emissions trading scheme will not change the climate one bit) are openly presented to the Australian people.

((WN)) Sending asylum seekers to Indonesia: good or bad?

SM: Any government policy that does not properly consider all implications (be it emissions trading, or any other issue) is a bad one.

((WN)) Is the Australian dollar’s near parity with the US dollar a sign that the Australian economy is healthy, the US economy in chaos or both?

SM: It’s a sign of both. Many countries around the world look with envy at how well (relatively) Australia is doing, to our credit! It is of concern that the American economy is in such bad shape and that their levels of debt seem unsustainable.

((WN)) How do you rate the governments economic stimulus package?

SM: The economic stimulus package was poorly targeted and poorly carried out. When we could have been building roads, dams, railways and hospitals yet instead we were paying for tattoos, PlayStations and overseas holidays.

((WN)) Should it be wound back?

SM: The question about levels of stimulus spending is a complicated one and requires expertise in economics, however one could say in general terms that all government spending should be well targeted and spent in the most efficient way.

((WN)) Is Kevin Rudd a better Prime Minister than John Howard?’

SM: Australian voters are the best judge of that and we will know in 2019 🙂

((WN)) Is the Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme an effective solution to climate change? Why?

SM: Absolutely not. The CPRS will not change the climate by any amount that we can measure – it’s just a new tax that will hurt Australians and drive businesses and jobs overseas. Since 2003 there has been mountains of new scientific data which contradicts the popular theory that human carbon dioxide emissions are causing significant global warming. Recently, many of the scientists who wrote the IPCC report (on which the ETS / CPRS is based) have been reported as manipulating scientific data to create scary global warming scenarios. The science is definitely not settled

((WN)) Is there a better solution?

SM: We can very easily refocus the momentum and goodwill that has been generated on climate change and channel this energy into other worthwhile environmental projects in Australia that will make a difference.

((WN)) Why should the electorate vote for you?

SM: I will oppose the ETS and support responsible environmental policies instead of radical environmental policies that could end up costing every Australian taxpayer $4550 per year in new taxes.

Australian state of Queensland will go to the polls on March 21

Thursday, February 26, 2009

The Premier of the Australian state of Queensland has announced that the state will have its election on Saturday, March 21. In an address on YouTube, Anna Bligh of the Australian Labor Party said that she called the election due to the state of the economy and to stabilise the government.

“It’s time for Queensland to settle this election. It’s time to settle the speculation. So that government, business and the community can get on with the task at hand and not be distracted and destabilised by looming elections,” Ms Bligh said in the statement.

Ms Bligh has recently denied that she would call an early election.

“I have always said that I want my government to run the full term and I have not changed my view on this lightly,” she said.

“After 11 years in office, Ms Bligh only cares about one job: her own,” said Lawrence Springborg head of the Liberal National Party (LNP) and the Leader of the Opposition. “Queensland deserves better. Over the next 27 days, the LNP will build on our vision for the Queensland we all deserve.”

The Opposition need to pick up at least twenty seats from the government to overcome the significant Labor majority and a number of independents.

“It is a sad legacy of economic management and mismanagement of the Labor Government that after 11 years of the rivers of gold, our state is broke,” Mr Springborg said. “It’s a little bit like lighting a fire and then running around and wanting credit for putting it out.”

A March 21 election gives candidates twenty six day to campaign. This is just within the legal requirements. The Queensland Electoral Act (1992) requires the election campaign to last between 26 and 56 days.

The Queensland Greens nominated an environmental lawyer to run against treasurer Andrew Fraser.

“We can tackle climate change and create long-term jobs, but Labor can’t see that because they are blinded by the interests of their big donors – the urban development and coal industries,” says Larrisa Waters, the Greens candidate for Mt-Cootha.

“The Greens want to give the community and the environment a voice back in State Parliament.”

“The current stance taken by both major parties, in relation to Daylight Saving in Queensland, is outdated, out of touch and inflexible. South East Queenslanders are frustrated that neither major party is currently prepared to explore options on the issue of Daylight Saving”, DS4SEQ party leader Jason Furze told Wikinews on January 30. DS4SEQ is a single-issue party, focused on the debate on daylight saving time.

Indigenous activist Sam Watson will be contesting the South Brisbane electorate which is currently held by the premier. He will represent the Socialist Alliance. Watson campaigned heavly for indigenous rights since the 1970s and was a community spokesperson following the death of Mulrunji Doomadgee in 2004.

X Ray Systems: Solution For Analysing Defected Organs

X Ray Systems: Solution For Analysing Defected Organs

With the emerging technologies, the requirement for screening with an aim to find the results in different types of industries also increases. These systems are gaining momentum & proving their potential in all domains of technologies.

Many people think that the presence ofX-ray devicesis only in healthcare for finding accurate results in the diagnostic fields. However, with the growing world, it is also extensively used for the inspection, sizes, and density of various things like battery cells, alignment of nodal points, etc.

X-Ray systems are extensively used in the field of inspection like PCB {Point Circuit Battery}, automotive inspection, and battery inspection.

Concept of X-ray systems:

It has a generator control that cooperates with an operator to select the appropriate methods for finding a quality image. In short, the X-ray generator controls the x-ray tube and x-ray kilo voltages.

The application of the X-Ray detectors can be found in various fields like medicine, X-Ray fluorescence, electronic assembly inspection, and it also helps in measuring of the thickness of the materials. It is also used in the sterilization process.

Uses of the X-Ray systems:

Its uses are as follows:

1. Medicine:

Its main domains are radiography, radiotherapy, fluoroscopic type procedures, orthopantomogram mammography, and tomography. Fluoroscopy is present in angioplasty, biopsy, and various orthopaedic procedures. These are highly advanced devices used to take in-depth pictures of bone and teeth.

2. Security:

We are all aware that it is an essential issue and x-ray systems are used extensively to examine the luggage at the airports, public buildings, and metro stations. For security purposes, the use of a generator is required.

3. Color classification:

It depends on the density of the material and its sizes. Orange colours are displayed by organic materials such as paper, clothes. Green colours are displayed by mixed materials such as aluminium. Blue colours are displayed by the inorganic materials and non-penetrable displays black.

4. Military & Defence:

In today’s generation, the military requires the best quality of detection. Its common applications are product quality assurance, missing components, assembly verification, and its products are ammunition, small arms, etc.

5. Electronics:

These domains of industries are running by miniaturization and its common uses are failure analysis, solder joint integrity, component positioning. Their various products are integrated circuits, and electromechanical components.

6. Forensic Engineering and Product availability:

Forensic Engineering refers to an investigation of the components that failed and does not operate as per design. Its common uses are debris analysis; memorialize evidence and common products such as gas controls and automobile components.

Different Types of X- Rays:

  • Standard Computed Tomography: It refers to computerized axial tomography and its main target is to obtain the results in problems related to heart ailments, blood clotting.
  • Kidney, ureter, and bladder X-Ray: It helps to develop the results associated with the gastrointestinal systems.
  • Chest X-Ray: It is used by doctors when the problems are associated with shortness of breath, suffocation, etc.
  • Lungs X-Ray: These types of the X- Rays are used for a comparison of the different zones of the lungs like the middle, upper, and lower and the complications are shown by the increased or decreased density of the lungs.

Recent Developments in the X-Ray systems:

With its availability in a few of the major industries of the world, scientists and engineers are regularly developing unique methods which can be easily fit into the device’s high-quality resolution images without giving high doses of radiation.

In recent times, there has been a shift towards specialized software solutions that can easily advance the applications of the images. By generating its applications in software, its production is changing as per the uses of the consumer.

Materials used in making X-Ray systems:

  • Operating Console: It aims to control the X-Ray tube current and voltage and helps in producing good results in terms of quality and quantity. It helps in finding better results.
  • High-frequency Generator: It strengthens the X-Ray tubes & helps in the production of effective results. It is also small & easily portable.

Effects of X- Rays on the body:

With the new and current developments in the X-Ray systems, the main motive of the physician or the medical professionals is to give lower doses of radiation to the patient.

Because as we all know that the higher doses of radiation cause many serious side effects like Vomiting tendency, hair loss, bleeding, uneasiness, and various skin problems.

Summary:

With the changing conventional X-Ray systems due to the new applications developed by the scientists, engineers, and doctors, their productivity are also increasing with the emerging needs of the industries and their uses.

As we know that there are various manufacturers in the market and the market is very competitive.

US military says ‘fireballs’ spotted over Texas are not related to satellite collision

Monday, February 16, 2009

The United States military Strategic Command (STRATCOM) has said that the ‘fireballs’ spotted over areas of Texas in the United States on Sunday February 15, are not related to the collision of a U.S. and Russian satellite in space. According to spaceweather.com, NASA says the object was a meteor.

“There is no correlation between the debris from that collision and those reports of re-entry,” said STRATCOM military spokeswoman Major Maj. Regina.

“It’s a natural meteor, definitely,” said Bill Cooke, an astronomer at NASA’s Meteoroid Environment Office.

On Tuesday, February 10, the American civilian communications satellite Iridium 33, launched in 1997, and the defunct Russian military communications satellite Kosmos-2251, launched in 1993, collided over Siberia. On Friday February 13, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) issued an alert for falling debris from the satellites, following reports of “explosions and earthquakes” along with “flashes in the sky” in Jackson and Louisville, Kentucky.

Then again on Sunday, calls to 9-1-1 began to come in to Williamson County, Texas sheriff’s office around 12:30 p.m. (Central time) that burning debris and fireballs were seen falling from the sky onto parts of Austin, Houston, Waco and San Antonio.

“The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reported to local law enforcement on Friday that these events are being caused by falling satellite debris. These pieces of debris have been causing sonic booms, resulting in vibrations felt by some residents, as well as flashes of light across the sky,” said the NOAA on Friday in an public information alert posted on their website. The FAA says the burning material over Texas is not related to this alert.

“We don’t know what it was [over Texas],” said Roland Herwig, a spokesman for the FAA on Monday. The alerts still remain in effect in Kentucky until further notice.

Residents in Texas reported their homes and windows shaking and large explosions on Sunday morning. After a search of several areas, the Williamson county sheriff’s office reported that no debris or impact sites were found. Earlier unconfirmed reports had said the debris could have been the result of a small plane exploding.

There was previous speculation was that the object in Texas could have been a meteor. Doctor Marco Ciocca, a professor at Eastern Kentucky University told WKYT on Sunday that it’s too early for the debris from the satellites to be reentering the planet’s atmosphere. “[It could] be months” before any of the satellite wreckage enters the earth’s atmosphere. “The debris doesn’t simply fall out of its orbit. It will either vaporize or stay in orbit for some time before falling into earth’s atmosphere.”

However, the Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS) said on February 12 that the debris could have taken 10 days or less to reenter over portions of the planet.

“Within 24 hours of the collision, the U.S. space tracking system had identified 600 pieces of debris. This large number suggests that the collision must have been relatively head-on. If the two satellites hit head-on, rather than a glancing blow, the energy of the collision would completely disintegrate both satellites into clouds of debris,” said the UCS in a statement on their website who also added that the collision took place in “the same region of space where China destroyed a defunct Chinese weather satellite with an anti-satellite (ASAT) weapon” in 2007. “That January 2007 test created a massive amount of debris.” There have been at least eight major satellite collisions since 1991.

The satellites, both of which had a mass in excess of 450 kilograms, and were traveling at approximately 17,500 miles per hour (28,150 km/hour), collided 491 miles (790 km) above the earth. Scientists say the explosion caused by the collision was massive. They are still trying to determine just how large the crash was and how the earth will be affected. STRATCOM continues to track the debris. The results of a plotting analysis will be posted to a public website.

New method of displaying time patented

Saturday, October 14, 2006

An American inventor has patented a pair of new time formats with a footprint less than 50% of that of conventional four-digit time. The more unusual of the two new formats, called “TWELV”, dispenses with numerals altogether. In place of clock hands or digits, the new clock uses color to convey the hour and a moon image to convey the minute, which moon slowly grows throughout the course of an hour from a narrow crescent to a full-fledged circle.

The second and more approachable of the new formats retains numerical digits to indicate the minute but uses colors to convey the hour.

Early critics question whether the aesthetic benefits of the moon-clock will be sufficient to encourage users to learn the color-based time-telling system. However, the size advantages of the new system may make it particularly suitable for mobile applications, particularly cell phones, wearable computers, and head-mounted displays.
